Here are a selection of my own scooters from the last 20 odd years- there are before and after shots where available |

Vespa Rally 200 Electronic. CCP 31S This was my first proper road bike, bought in 1980 from Len's of Shipley. I paid £600.00 for it and it came as you see it now but without that bloody awful seat cover. It was the best Vespa that I have ever owned/ridden. No flexing of the frame when cornering on a Rally. I also never changed the oil in it all the time I owned it! 'Engine oil- what's that?' I was 17.

GP150 Lambretta It was Easter 1981 and Chris was out to play on his nice GP. It was hand painted in Spiderman logos and pictures. The steering bearing was stiff and it was a dog. I spent all weekend fixing it. It sounded nice though as I had an Ancillotti box on it.

Jet 200 Lambretta. DUM 52K [Spanish/Servetta] This scooter was created from a damaged frame donated to me by Keith Broadley. It had the guts of a Jet 200, a 400X10" rear tyre, a tuned barrel with a Dykes, step ring piston and a Mk.1 Dellorto. This was the fastest Lambretta that I owned. The torque was wild and I did have to hold on tightly. One of the lads in the club had one of the first 250cc Lambrettas [1982] and I took great pleasure in blowing him into the ground one evening in a race. The Jet crank has a very thin taper to the flywheel and I bent one on the way to Brighton. The scoot got me home with no other problems, other than the rear wheel fell of as I stopped to pay my toll over the Humber Bridge on the way home, very Embarrassing. |

SX200 Special Lambretta. TBB 524G Of all the Lambretta's that I've owned and built, this one is special. I saved the engine from the scooter above and when I had DUM knicked I decided to build a full bodied bike. TBB 524 G was bought off Keith Broadley [the frame and odd body parts] and I got the rest of the bits together, sprayed them in the kitchen, baked them in the oven and then this little beauty was born. I knew all about what the engine could do so I had to build a bike to look good around it. This scooter I was dead happy with. It had an Ancillotti exhaust on it too at first. Then I added an Amal 50mm carb, and went every where on it throughout 82 and 83. Then I had a relapse and sold it to Rowley Bailey in Whitby. £200.00 and I was Happy at the time! Now it would be worth ten times that - how time flies. |

I would buy this bike back today if it was for sale, but I know that it is still being used in Whitby by one of Rowley's mates. By far my favourite scooter, pleasure to own. |

P200E Vespa [KKH254V] This Scooter was bought from a mate, Neil. He had owned it from new and was in a bit of a state when I got it. I stripped it down and rebuilt it into the scooter you see below.

1985 and the P200E was the transport for me for the next few years. I had a car at this time also. But once you have the bug, it never goes. This lasted me until mid 1988 when I sold it to a lad from Hessle, Andy Brooke. He blew it up some time later on the way to lowestoft. | |

1989 / 1990 and I had been with out a scooter for 6 months, I was getting palpitations so I built this PE from a box of parts that I got from another contact in the Hull area. This PE had a good finish and I was pleased with the end result. But it is still a Vespa. No offence, but the problem for me with Vespas are that when I'm cornering them the whole frame flexes and it makes cornering hazardous, if its not bad enough on two wheels? Back to my Lambrettas.
